In the manner of F.Church's - "The North"

Several days after the end of the American Civil war, Frederic Church unveiled his new masterpiece title “The North.” A giant luminous painting of ice. It did not sell. He added a broken ship’s mast to the foreground, changed the title to “The Icebergs,” and shipped it to London, where it finally sold and then disappeared from view for over 100 years.

This image suggests one of his study sketches for the finished work.
